Where it starts

Does this sound familiar?

Something has been off for a while. You can't pinpoint when it started, but you know it's there.

Maybe you're carrying more than you let on. Maybe your relationships leave you feeling alone, even when you're not. Maybe you've been going through the motions so long you've forgotten what it felt like not to. Or maybe your body is sending signals you can't ignore: the tension, the sleeplessness, the anxiety that arrives without warning.

You've probably tried things. Books, podcasts, maybe therapy before. Some of it helped for a while. But you keep ending up in the same place, and you're starting to suspect the problem runs deeper than coping strategies can reach.

What changes

What actually changes in therapy

The patterns come into view

Why you shut down right when you want to speak up. Why things fall apart just as they start going well. We look at what you can't see on your own.

Daily life gets lighter

The Sunday-night dread lifts. The fight that used to derail a week becomes a conversation you can actually have. You set a boundary without apologizing for it.

Your body notices too

You sleep through the night. Your shoulders drop. The knot in your stomach loosens. These aren't small things. They're signs the change is real.

Who I work with

Adults, teens, and couples

Adults

Anxiety that won't settle. Relationships that keep going the same way. A life that looks fine from the outside but doesn't quite fit.

Teens, 13+

When your teen won't talk to you, they may talk to someone else. I work with teens directly and keep parents involved in a way that protects the trust therapy needs.

Couples

When it's the same fight in different clothes. We look at what each of you brings to the pattern, not just who's right.

About Blake

How I work

I work primarily from a psychodynamic approach, which means we look at the deeper why beneath your patterns. When it's useful, I bring in other tools such as CBT and EMDR.

I've spent thousands of clinical hours in private practice and inpatient psychiatric settings, and I've learned that good therapy isn't a formula. It's understanding what you actually need, and meeting you there.

The relationship matters too. When someone understands what you're going through without judging it, you can finally explore the parts of yourself you've been working around, and life starts to feel less like something you're managing.

For athletes and professionals

Performance, in sport and at work

Most performance advice hands you another technique. But if the same thing keeps happening, like freezing when the stakes rise, pushing yourself past the point of usefulness, or going quiet in the room where you should speak up, a new technique rarely sticks. The pattern is coming from somewhere.

So we look at your personality style: how you're built to handle pressure, approval, competition, and control. Every style carries real strengths and predictable blind spots. Once you can see yours clearly, you stop fighting how you're wired and start working with it.

For athletes, professionals, and anyone whose performance has stalled for reasons they can't quite name.

Why I don't take insurance

Insurance pays to treat a diagnosis, and it usually wants the work kept short. That fits some problems. It doesn't fit what most people come to me for: understanding patterns that have been running quietly for years.

Paying privately means we decide together how long the work takes, and your insurer never sees your records unless you choose to submit a claim. If your plan has out-of-network benefits, I can give you a superbill to seek reimbursement.
